As 2013 drew to an end I briefly thought 'what would my word for 2014 be'. Through a very busy December I barely had a moment to think about it. On December 31 a lampworking friend on Facebook posted about an art course she was going to take. With little hesitation I signed up for this class too! I knew this class would be perfect for me. It is a year a long, weekly course that involves self-development and healing along with art instruction from various artists. Something you may not know about me is that I enjoy creating paintings but I haven't been happy with my paintings. I long for depth and layers in my paintings but just can't seem to acheive it. I hope this year long course will help me with that. I also hope it will lead me toward a clearer personal style in my work. Are you still with me? I haven't digressed completely, I assure you, I'm getting to my 2014 word.
The course is called Lifebook 2014 with mixed media artist Tamara Laporte. All the info can found on Tamara's website, Willowing Arts. My word for 2014 came to me in the first lesson. On January 1st Tamara led us through a guided meditation and it was immediately clear to me that my word for 2014 would be joy.
I will climb mountains.
I will snow shoe.
I will ski.
I will ......
She needs to be transferred to the proper art paper and painted. I'm waiting for some supplies to arrive (it seems like they're taking for ever to get here). I'll share her again when she's complete.
