I got so busy with 4th of July celebrations last week I wasn't able to get my blog post done. So this week I am doubling up and including two prompts from the Focus on Life series. Week 27 our prompt from Sally was texture. I love trees so when I came upon this beautiful, old oak tree it was natural that the bark caught my eye. Years of growth give this tree a deep, ridged bark. Week 28 was a bit a challenge of me. Our prompt was pretty patterns. It took me most of the week to find something I felt fit. Actually, it took all week. I came across this poor deceased dragonfly on my morning walk today. The color in his wings as well as the patterns within the wings caught my eye. Nature provides such pretty patterns, don't you think? The tree bark could fit into the pretty patterns category too. I wish my photos were better. I really wish I could have captured the dragon fly wings using my good camera. I did the best I could using my cell phone on the side of a busy road. Thanks for stopping by. Click on the camera image above to see all the pretty patterns documented by the wonderful folks in this group.

Oh, I really like both of your photos for these weeks. Trees do have such cool textures and those wings of the dragonfly are beautiful! I actually think it's also pretty cool how you can see the little rocks/pebbles through the wings! I know what you mean about cell phone cameras,....I am not the biggest fan of those at all! I think you did an awesome job capturing those wings with your cell. Impressive! I agree, the texture and pattern are done best by nature. I grew up with a pair of birch trees in the yard and loved their paper bark Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
