Lately I've spent a little bit of time experimenting with polymer clay. I thought making an ornament might be a good opportunity to work with clay some more. After an epic clay fail (I'll be blogging about that next week) I happy to say I had a bit of success.
I decided to keep it simple. I knew I would use polymer, as opposed to glass, to create the ornaments. I follow a number of blogs and one I very much enjoy reading is a blog by Heather Powers of Humblebeads. Heather wrote a wonderful tutorial on her blog, Merry Little Owl Holiday Ornament. After reading Heather's blog my ideas began to take shape.
I knew I wanted to incorporate Heather's idea of stamping words onto the ornament.
But I was undecided on the form I would use for the ornament. More thinking.
Then on a quick trip to the store for hair products I bumped right into these small Christmas themed cookie cutters and my ideas solidified.
As always thanks for stopping by. Hop on over to Art Bead Scene, I promise you will be blown away by all the amazing artisan ornaments.
